Standard Spacing Configuration

The Standard Spacing Configuration uses the standard "PARIS" method to determine to WPM rate of Morse Code. Use this Spacing Configuration type if you simply want to enter the WPM.

The relative durations for this Spacing Configuration are:

A dot/dit is one count
A dash/dah is three counts
An element space is one count
A character space is three counts
A word space is seven counts

Creating a New Standard Spacing Configuration
Click the "New Spacing Configuration" button on the WinMorse Toolbar.

This will make the "New Spacing Configuration Type" window appear. Select the "Standard Spacing" option, then click the "OK" button.

This will make the "New Standard Spacing Configuration" window appear. Type the desired WPM in the "Standard WPM" field. Valid values for this field are 1-100.

As you type, the "Configuration Name" field will automatically change, giving this configuration a nice default name. You may overwrite the default Configuration Name with any name you chose. You may click the lock icon to toggle it to the locked state to prevent the Configuration Name from changing as you are typing a new WPM.

Press OK to accept these settings and to create the new Spacing Configuration.
